Dr. Bushra Bilal (PhD UOK, Pakistan)
Dr. Bushra Bilal work as an educator and researcher in the field of Biochemistry. She continued her graduation studies from Jinnah University for Women. She stood first class first position in both B.Sc. (honors) and M.Sc., and received Gold medal for securing first position in faculty of Science in M.Sc. During her M.Sc. thesis, she was fascinated with the experiments conducted on Environmental Biochemistry, and this is from where her interest in research developed. She got admission in M. Phil. at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Karachi and worked as a Jr. Research fellow of molecular biology and proteomics. After completion of her M. Phil. Degree, she joined as Research coordinator of the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS), AKUH. She optimized experiments based on cloning, expression, and purification of different proteins. She won a travel award from FAPSE in 2013 to attend “Latin American eScience Workshop 2013: Turning Data into Insight” at São Paulo, Brazil.
She began working on Ph.D. dissertation with the motivation to start a career in applied research in 2014 from ICCBS, University of Karachi. During her stay in ICCBS, she had organized workshops and participated in various conferences and symposia. In 2017 she was appointed as a lecturer in Department of Biosciences in Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU). Along with teaching she has been supervising BS and MS students in research area related to protein chemistry, molecular cloning, and biotechnology, and with her teaching and research responsibilities, she is also working as the reviewer of Journals.
